C’mon Bounce

Apr 28, 2008 in Ramblings

This morning, as I hopped on the Movement board like I do every morning as part of my post-gym pre-cofee ritual, I noticed this video (zZz is playing – “Grip”). Ed from pentdego.com hipped me to it.
This is exactly what a video should be. I especially dig the way they have the guy painting the track progress across the bottom of the screen.

Unfortunately, there will not be a show tonight. I am involved in a completely shitty situation at work, and I’d rather not have that bleed over into the production. Sorry for the late notice.

DLH – 4.21.2008 Live Show Recap

Apr 21, 2008 in Love Handles

Holy sh**…This show went WAY off tangent tonight. I meant to go in and take a journey back in time with some of the records I used to play in college. Instead, I wound up talking about my first musical group F.I.T.E (Fellas In Total Effect). You gotta download the show and listen to me tell Old Yist all about it. Big love to everyone that stopped by including all my West coast gang. Thanks for listening to this idiot.

DOWNLOAD THE SHOW HERE
Be warned…it is about 232Mb in size so it may take a while. But for 2 hours of goodness, how can you go wrong?

Deep’s What?

Apr 21, 2008 in Announcement, Love Handles

Some folks have been asking me why I call the show “Deep’s Love Handles.” If you have a set of eyes that work properly, you can see that I have a little extra manhood hanging around my waist. No, I am not smuggling grapefruits in the back of my T-Shirt. Since I have recently become obsessed with losing them, I figured it’s a good way to keep them front and center. Maybe at some point down the road, I’ll change the name of the show, but for now it works. The second reason is due to the song by Keller Williams (check the video). Though he’s more know for entertaining the dirty hippie crowd, I think his music and style of playing the git-tar are pretty damned cool. So, in preparation for the show TONIGHT AT 8PM EASTERN, I give you….

The Week Ahead and Behind

Apr 18, 2008 in Announcement, Ramblings

(pew pew pew)….And Now In Music News…(pew pew pew)

Good week all around for the radio station. The show on Monday night went better than expected, and we also had follow up shows by Mike and Ed.
But I think everyone is gearing up for the next installment of Old Yist Radio this evening at 9pm EST. Drop by the chathole and join the conversation as we decide how to save the youth center.

As I prep for Monday night, I welcome all comments, suggestions, bit ideas, or naked photographs (no goatse please). Hopefully, I will be able to get my ass into the booth over the weekend and start raising the quality of my production.

I’m also looking into solving my microphone issues. At the moment, I am using a Studio Project B3 condenser mic. It’s a great mic, but I find that it’s rumbling a bit too much. Perhaps I have some settings incorrect, or the compressor I am using is on the fritz.

Hopefully, you’ve all subscribed to the RSS feed, but if you haven’t, please do so and keep track of my pathetic attempts at internet fame.

See you all on Monday night!

As I referenced in last night’s show, I’m really digging Raul Midon lately. Check the video.

Facelift

Apr 14, 2008 in Announcement

So here is the new version of Deepshine.TV. You’ll find all the tracklists from recent shows, download links, a page about my originals, etc. As if you haven’t noticed, I have converted everything to Wordpress and hopefully, I’ll learn enough CSS and PHP in the coming weeks to make it even better. Don’t be surprised if you see a few AdSense links (a man’s gotta make a living, right?).

Thanks to Ed, Mike and the rest of the crew for pointers in the right direction.

Feel free to comment on anything you see.
