Terminal

Mar 13, 2004 in Ramblings

Heading home today. Sitting in the airport and wirelessly updating this blog has me feeling pretty superior to all of the other road warriors around me, but then again, I am, so that’s ok. I just had some guy debate me on whether or not there was wireless in the terminal and he didn’t believe me until I showed his democratic ass Foxnews.com, of course, in a fair and balanced way. I’d give you details about this trip, but it wasn’t very exciting. Cisco bought another company though…Twingo Systems, Inc. Funny thing is that I’ve been trying their product as an internal beta without even knowing what it was…I just thought it was something we were working on. Oops, gate call…gotta run.

San Jose

Mar 09, 2004 in Ramblings

So here is the standard update from San Jose. I leave Sunday night because I figured I would take my time getting out here and be in the office first thing Monday. Little did I know that Chicago has not yet learned how to deal with winds at the airport. After sitting on the runway at Logan for 3 hours, we arrive at O’Hare only to sit on the runway THERE for another 30 minutes. I watched my connecting flight take off. I was forced (along with several hundred other travelers) to stay the night in Chi-town. So when all is said and done, I got to San Jose exactly 25 minutes earlier than if I had left on a direct flight Monday morning. And the hits just keep on comin’. So what’s up with the record you ask? Sales are OK, but I need to put together an actual press kit and start ramping up the online army for promotions. 2004 is all about selling 500 records baby. I get a new IBM T40 today. Souped up Cisco style… Chris Shizm hipped me to America’s Army this weekend…yet another game that I will suck at. Yeah…thanks Chris. We booked the wedding band this weekend… Night Rhythms. They should be amazing. The hotel is killing my Unreal experience. Ping times are at an all time high…time to trash the room in protest.

Unreal

How did YOU spend your one extra day in four years? Me? I sat my ass in a chair and played Unreal…ALL…DAY…LONG. A pot of coffee and a Dominos deep dish gave me all the fuel I needed to lay waste to 13 year olds around the globe. Now I’m back to work. So it goes. I’ll be out in San Jose again next week. Seems like I’m heading out there more and more lately, but that’s cool. Miles, baby, more and more miles. The show on Friday night (see my last post) was great. Luna played first, followed by Sin Crowd (a bit too art rock for me) and then Senor Happy. I haven’t seen SH play together in years and they didn’t lose a step. Pretty good crowd too…about 35 people or so. Back later…conference calls all day.
