Studio Time

Jan 30, 2004 in Ramblings

So I’m sitting here at QDivision Records where I am awaiting the arrival of Mr. Ed Valauskas, general manager at Q and bassist extraordinaire for the Gravel Pit. I made a DVD of the Loveless show back in December (the WFNX Alternativity gig) and wanted to drop it by the label. Bad news as I walked in here…found out that dear old Ed was here at the studio until about 3AM, which does not bode well for me and my limited time availability. No worries. The DVD itself came out pretty well for a one camera shoot. If you’ve ever seen “Reverb” on HBO, you get the feel of what I was trying to do. Not a whole lot you can do with straight shots, outside the basic cross-dissolves and speed transitions. Got a lead on a regular gig here in Boston. I’m not providing too many details for fear of jixing myself. (skip ahead 4 hours) Met with Ed, he dug the DVD, and that just makes me feel good. I’m not expecting payment since it’s really just a labor of love, but it’s still cool when people like your work. Time to get down to some serious production work. Maybe a new career? Hmmmmm……

Post Holiday Nonsense

Jan 18, 2004 in Ramblings

Been a long time since I updated. Holidays were cool…big ups for more storage…200G worth. Been out here in San Jose for the past 2 weeks doing IT stuff for Cisco. The best part is that I’ll be returning home with a new 1200 access point and 7920 wireless IP phone. The LAN gets bigger and badder every day. I NEED to do a broadcast soon or I think they’ll disable the account again. Sigh. Seems like Yist has been sucked up by the poker gods. Oldy needs a new pair of shoes. The webcast of the RHP show the other night was sick. I finally got a chance to see them live, but how ironic is it that the only show they do in the Boston area coincides with my trip to SJ? Going to start work on a few new projects with some local rock guys…look for new tiunes VERY soon. That’s about it from the left coast. Late.
