Expanding Horizons

Oct 31, 2003 in Ramblings

As the Deepshine Empire continues to grow, I opened a couple of online stores yesterday. Yes folks, Deepshine Components is now open for business, and just in time for Christmas! Get your MP3 players, LCD screens, compact flash cards, and a ton of other stuff… Got enough computer gear? Then get what you REALLY want, which is music, books, games, etc. Deepshine Essentials will get you your XBOX games, CDs, DVDs, and all your other stocking stuffers… Easy to buy…easy to find…safe and secure. Help a brother out! Got the TV on and I’m watching “Diddy Runs the City” on MTV. So the Puffster wants to run a marathon? What’s interesting about that? What I’d like to see is Biggie Smalls trying to run that shit. He’d probably stop after 100 yards, eat a big mac, get in an escalade, puff a blunt, and then walk across the finish line. THAT’s what I want to see. Especially since he’s dead. So Diddy is running thru Central Park with an entourage following him with water and cellphones in a caravan of golf carts. Must be tough…meanwhile…. I pulled all the muscles in my neck this morning at the gym….no, not hitting a personal best on a deadlift…I was taking off my fleece pullover and jacked myself up. I’m in good shape, huh? Just got a call from a Telemarketer in India. How do I know that? Because he sounded like Apu from the Simpsons and said his name was Jim Dawson. Yeah, right. His English was pretty good though…

Procuce an Apology

Oct 30, 2003 in Ramblings

So here’s the deal with the show from last night…it was the same problem that we had a few weeks back: I could stream the show but listeners couldn’t connect. After a bunch of back-and-forth emails to Dan over at Groovefactory, we finally figured out the issue by rebooting the GF server (you know, if all else fails, reboot). I did a mini-show from 9-10:30, but by then it was a little late to keep the core audience. I promise you we’ll do a proper show again. I got a chance to talk to Emceesayword in San Diego last night…according to him, it looks like nuclear winter out there. He said that no matter what they are reporting out here in Boston, it just can’t capture the magnitude of what’s going on in SD. This weekend is all gutter-cleaning and leaf-blowing…and no, those are not sexual double-entendres, much to my shagrin.

Show Tonight

Oct 29, 2003 in Love Handles

SHOW TONIGHT – 7:30 PM The wildfires in CA are kinda freaking me out…got a lot of friends in that area. Let’s hope Emceesayword is OK. I’m gonna try to call him today and get the lowdown…maybe he can give us a live update on the show. I’m working on a remix for Godboxer right now…I stopped on it for a while but have a renewed vision. Look for it soon… Anyone want to ship me a 200G 7200RPM 8MB cache drive? I’m having serious storage issues… What’s up with the message board? Activity has slowed to a crawl…what happened to the good old days of purely stupid posts? Imus annoys me. CNN annoys me. Hyper-liberal media annoys me.

Death and Sales

Oct 28, 2003 in Ramblings

Remember, show tomorrow night at 7:30PM est. It’s been a long time coming… It’s been a sad couple of weeks in celebrity deaths…first Rerun, and now Rod Roddy, voice of The Price is Right. When will the poorly dressed famous people stop dying? Who’s next? Rip Taylor? I’m now obsessed with checking the sales of the record…since yesterday, I have sold a whopping ZERO CDS!!! I know the IRS is just waiting in the wings for me to make a million, so they can wait a bit longer… I’m trying to think of a good Halloween costume…I’ll take suggestions. So far it’s a toss up between dressing up as OldYist or a dead Red Sox fan…

…And I’m Off

So I got this blog up and running again…I took the time to figure out how to publish into my templates, not that it’s brain surgery, but I could never find the time to actually do it… I’m sitting in the office at work for the first time in a month. It gets me out of the house, but a few guys around the cubes where I’m sitting got fired a few days ago so the atmosphere is a little tense… The CD Baby site is almost up and running…they’re in the process of digitizing the record and posting everything…getting pretty excited. The wedding planning is a nightmare…the scam perpetrated by the Wedding Industry is unbelievable…I don’t know how anyone can afford it.
